Dear Smile Oregon Supporter,
Happy Holidays! We would like to thank you for supporting Smile Oregon in your own special way. Whether volunteering, making a donation, or participating in events, your involvement has been meaningful in helping to fulfill the Smile Oregon mission.
We are committed to ensuring that every family affected by a cleft or craniofacial condition living in Oregon has access to the coordinated care they deserve, by providing support, awareness and education. Together with supporters like you, we’ve expanded our community, helped numerous children and families, and raised nearly $20,000 in 2016.
This year Smile Oregon awarded over $12,000 in grants to local children to assist in the cost of medical and dental care. We also provided $2,000 in scholarships for 12 children with cleft lip and palate to attend the annual Pacific University Speech Workshop. This is a wonderful collaboration between Pacific University, OHSU, and Smile Oregon to have professors and graduate students engage one-on-one with children for speech therapy.
Smile Oregon values community building and the support for this year’s 6th Annual Walk & Family Picnic grew to new heights. Creating a place where family and friends affected by cleft and craniofacial conditions can gather and build lasting relationships is at the heart of Smile Oregon. Last January, the winter event with the Portland Trail Blazers was a great success as Smile Oregon shared a video at half-time to a cheering crowd of over 20,000 people! We are thrilled that nearly 100 Smile Oregon friends will be present for this winter’s Blazer game where 12 Smile Oregon children will join the Portland Trail Blazers on the court for a special fan experience as they represent our community during the National Anthem!
We are excited for 2017 and appreciate your role as a continued supporter of Smile Oregon! As we enter the annual season of giving, would you be willing to make a special year-end contribution to Smile Oregon? Your continued support will make a lasting impact on the children and families in Oregon affected by cleft and craniofacial conditions.
